With five albums in the last seven years Cru will release Riffin’ The Blue this coming February 2023. That is what this album is all about – that RIFF! Each song (as always with Tas Cru – original) is born from and raised up on its very own melodic guitar hook – aka the RIFF. In addition to his tried-and-true studio stalwarts, here Tas enlists solid help from a few others, most notably Mike Zito (courtesy of Gulf Coast Records) and renowned keyboardist, Bruce Katz. Zito puts his guitar stamp on two songs – the album’s opener/title track and on the closer, Memphis Gone. Katz contributes his world-class talent on piano and organ to ten of the album’s eleven songs. Tas is eager to bring the songs from the new album to your stage.
Tas Cru is known as a blues eclectic who refuses to let his music be bound to just one blues style, making him truly one of the most unique of bluesmen plying his trade today! You get it all from Tas – swing, shuffle, blues ballad, country blues and then he’ll rock your knobs off. With a repertoire of over 100 original songs from multiple albums and dozens of crowd-pleasing classics, this seasoned pro gives folks what they want be it festival, listening room or juke. With great vocal and guitar work alongside his trademark well-crafted lyrics, his music is an interesting and enjoyable listen. Live, it’s captivating!
